Great job!
Make sure your mission statement contains your what (what you do), your how (the way you do it), your who (your ideal clients) and your WHY (the purpose and motivation for what you do). Next, check that it is in the simplest and most succinct form possible.
When you structure your mission statement like this, you will have a powerful force that will rally your team, attract ideal clients, and motivate everyone to achieve their goals.
Mission statements can be a powerful force for you and your team. When created perfectly, a mission statement will rally your team, attract ideal clients, and motivate everyone to achieve their goals.
Start by brainstorming your what (what you do), your how (the way you do it), your who (your ideal clients) and your WHY (the purpose and motivation for what you do). Then condense it into the simplest and most succinct form possible, and you will have a very powerful mission statement. We have found that the most powerful part is usually the why.
That’s awesome that you have them, now make sure your team understands, agrees with and upholds them! Each member of the team is accountable to those culture statements.
Protect your culture by NEVER hiring someone who doesn’t fit in with your culture.
Integrate your culture statements into weekly meetings, daily huddles, coaching, and staff meetings to ensure they’re really being lived.
You must create and uphold a set of culture statements that tell your team, “how we do things around here”. Involving team members in the creation of these will really help with buy in!
The culture statements act as a set of expectations; so when culture statements aren’t followed, it’s easier to initiate a coaching conversation with your team member, and ask “how can we get you to live this culture statement?”
Fabulous! Make sure your vision is what you are working towards. Then make sure your short-term goals are leading you towards achieving that vision.
If your staff are not helping you work towards your vision, make sure the vision is clear, compelling, and that staff have clear roles and goals that add up to you achieving that vision. When your team consistently hits their goals, you should eventually achieve your vision!
Vision can also be thought of as a long-term goal that provides a sense of direction for the business.
Your vision, whether you decide to keep it internal or share it with your audience, needs to be INSPIRING, COMPELLING and REITERATED OFTEN!!!! A vision statement that inspires, compels, and is reiterated often and enthusiastically, will dramatically improve your team’s performance and commitment.
Fantastic job getting a large task completed!
The goal with the manuals would be to have so much detail and instruction that you could put any person into any role, and they would have all the tools they need to succeed. Make sure your manuals include: organizational charts, job descriptions (with key performance indicators), step by step procedures for each job, policies and safety regulations. It should also include your mission statement, vision statement, and culture statements.
This is an ongoing process, but why not start today? Operations manuals are extremely important as they uncover areas of weakness, giving you the opportunity to rewrite procedures and improve efficiency. This process will also help you identify silos, have departments or positions work together in better ways, and minimize risk, as they can be used for cross training if you need to replace staff, or let people take vacation.
Make sure your manuals include: organizational charts, job descriptions (with key performance indicators), step by step procedures for each job, policies and safety regulations. It should also include your mission statement, vision statement and culture statements.
It is key to review these with employees to ensure everyone understands their ROLE and GOALS. Without clear job descriptions (including KPIs) and procedures (step by step how to do the job), staff can be unmotivated and unsure of how to do a "great job" for you.
This is a NEED for your team, great job filling that need!
Aim for monthly evaluations that reference each employee's job description and check-in with their KPI’s.
Secondly, schedule reviews of each employee’s career goals, salary and personal goals at a minimum annually, but we recommend every quarter.
People crave feedback, the more feedback the better!
We recommend a monthly review of each employee's KPIs and job description. Staff with clear KPIs will help you move in the right direction and help you achieve your business goals more effectively. Referencing the job description during reviews will help encourage and reinforce staff in working hard to accomplish objectives and KPIs.
On top of that, schedule a review of each employee’s career goals, personal goals, salary and their future with the company at a minimum annually, but ideally this would be done once a quarter.
Excellent! Now that you know what they are, spend extra effort marketing them. This will instantly increase your overall profit.
Start by determining the price, cost and gross profit of EVERY product or service you offer. If the market will bear it, promote only your most profitable activities. This will increase your overall profit, instantly.
Wow, great job! If you’ve got the basics down: updating information, regular posting, using keywords and asking for google reviews. Make sure you also do these four things.
SEO stands for search engine optimization. You want to improve your SEO so your website appears more often and ranks higher on search engines like google.
Our four, free tips will get you started on increasing your SEO.
Awesome, social media can be a powerful, free marketing tool. Here are our top three tips.
You have to start somewhere! Begin by providing helpful, free content, on one platform, with a mix of photos and videos that fit in with your culture and brand.
Include your people in your posts. People buy from people. Your people are what make you unique; your culture is your asset. If you're posting about a product or service, have a team member in the photo, or even better, get them to talk about it on video!
Next, create social media guidelines and procedures and share them with your team, so anyone who posts follows the same standards.
Nice work! Make sure you are tracking leads and customers and asking, ‘how did you hear about us”. Then you can calculate the cost per customer, cost per lead, conversion and return on investment for each lead source.
We track this data in our monthly marketing report so we know what is working and can make data driven marketing decisions.
The first thing you MUST start doing is asking ALL leads how they heard about you and where else they’ve heard about you, and record that data!
We highly recommend measuring ROI, CPC, CPL and conversion rate % for every type of marketing separately. These four numbers will give you the best insight as to where you should be spending your money.
ROI = profit from investment / investment
CPC = investment / # customers from investment
CPL = investment / # leads from investment
conversion rate = # customers / total # leads from investment
Great job! Your budget is your clear, financial plan so you will achieve your business goal for the upcoming year. Make sure you include detailed revenues and expenses and REVIEW them monthly.
Your budget is your financial plan to achieve your business goal. Start now by creating a clear budget, broken out month by month. Then every month, insert your actual monthly results and year to date totals (from your income statements). Comparing the numbers in this way will help you understand how the YTD is broken down each month.
Your budget needs to be reviewed monthly, so you can find your biggest areas of opportunity. Without a financial plan (and reviewing it) you have no way of knowing if you and your team members' efforts, KPIs or marketing objectives are bringing you closer to achieving your business goals.
