A few of my clients and I experimented with several taking more time off than usual this year, and here are the results:

- Increased revenue and profitability.
- Increased health.
- Decreased stress.
- Increased JOY.
- Better relationships (both personally and at work).
Just Walk Out Of Your Business!
I’m not telling you to just walk out of your business without properly creating job descriptions, goals, and procedures, and hiring and delegating to highly competent individuals, but I am telling you to get all of those things in place, and then just walk out of your business!
I’m serious, shut off the phone, take a bath, go for a hike, lay in bed and watch Netflix, enjoy family activities, or do anything you’d like to do that will make you feel recharged.

More Time Off = Higher Productivity
The more time off you take to recharge, the more of an enjoyable human being you become, the better leader you are, the more people want to do a good job for you, and the happier you feel. The happier you feel, the more people want to do a good job for you. More good things come to you. The “harder” you work, the less enjoyable you are to be around, the LESS PRODUCTIVE per hour you are, and the less everything works (including profit).

Happier Leader, Happier Employees
If you feel like you work too much, or don’t get enough time off, or even just WISH you had more time off, you are not being the leader I know you could be if you take more time off. Take more time off, if not for yourself, for the staff that has to deal with your “I need a vacation” grumpiness. 😉
And just think, the more of those wonderful policies and procedures you put in place, the better you make your hiring, training and retention programs, the MORE TIME OFF YOU CAN TAKE! Heck, you could even work yourself right out of that business, if you so wish.
Or, you could go to work because you WANT to, not because you have to. And people will LOVE that leader so much more, I promise you!
