It’s not about HR, Financials, Operations or Marketing — It’s all about how you think!

Learning how to think should be your primary objective.

Many business owners come to me asking “can you fix my business?” Sadly, I cannot. Only they can fix their business, by fixing their ways of thinking. The smartest ones understand this—and usually become TMH clients. They make INCREDIBLE changes in their lives, because of their willingness to “try on” new ways of thinking. One of my mentors once explained it like this: “You can’t try on a new pair of shoes until you take off the old ones.”  That was a lightbulb moment for me, as I had refused to “take off my shoes” many times.

A lot of people are so stuck in their old ways of thinking that they do not have the capacity to even “try on” new ways of thinking. Unfortunately, this keeps them living a life of mediocrity. Their relationships, their businesses, and their lives are so much less than they could be—because they’re not allowing themselves to try on a new way of thinking. I know that you are not like most people, because you are taking the time to read this. I request that you do better than those people!

There are so many opportunities to improve your business and your life, by improving the way you think. I’ve picked just 2 powerful examples for you. Try to find several examples in your own day, to shift your paradigm and create better results.

1. When you can’t change someone (hint: you actually CAN change someone):
You may find yourself wishing that your teammate, employee, or partner was different. Don’t feel bad, we all do this. The key is to catch yourself wishing, and change that thought. What if instead of trying to change someone, you changed the way you looked at them? What if, for 30 days, you wrote down 10 things you APPRECIATED about them?

I’ll tell you what happens because I have asked dozens of people to do this exercise. You get BETTER RESULTS from that person. In essence, they change! When you force yourself to appreciate things about the person, your expectations start to change, and you start to treat them differently. You will start to notice a whole lot more to appreciate, and they will start to show up differently for you. Do this for the next 30 days—you will be THRILLED with the results!

2. When you can’t seem to feel happy or joyful. 
If you are going throughout your day, your week, your month or your year, without JOY and EXCITEMENT and HAPPINESS, I feel sad for you. Life should be AMAZING and it can be! The key is APPRECIATION for what you have. Every morning, for 30 days, I want you to write out 10 things you are grateful for, and that you appreciate in your life. Get up 10 minutes earlier if you have to. Even better, involve your loved ones, or your team in this exercise. Gratitude and appreciation are SO POWERFUL. You will find, after 30 days, that you are exponentially happier, and as an added bonus—more successful in the areas of life that matter to you.

Now some of you cynics may be thinking “this won’t work” or “this is more of that floofy crap.” That’s you refusing to try on this new pair of shoes I am offering you, as a GIFT.
Don’t be rude! Try on the darn shoes!! They are a GIFT for pete’s sake.
