How to Succeed in Business And Live a Great Life Because Of It!

Do you ever wish you were more successful in business? And happier in general? A lot of business owners do, and so did I, until I came up with these strategies of how to succeed in business and live a great life because of it and executed on them over and over. Now I’m always smiling like in this picture. 😉

1. Don’t give up; persevere. But it’s so much more than that.

Persevere AND…..

Be flexible.

Know when to take time off or change your focus.

WIN or LEARN from your mistakes.

Get back up when you get knocked down.

Don’t beat yourself up—it doesn’t work. It creates a hard ceiling on your success. You can get much farther by focusing on the other things that DO work for you.

2. Enjoy the journey—and love!

Love yourself, others, and your business(es).

3. Never stop learning: ebooks, audible, books, coaching, masterminds, leadership groups, etc.

Surround yourself with incredible people who encourage learning and elevate you.

4. Ditch your old limiting beliefs. You don’t need them anymore.

This means ditch ANYTHING NEGATIVE YOU THINK about yourself, the world, the government, other people, etc. but especially about you.

Your thoughts create your world, so choose the ones that make you feel good and successful.

The negative ones send you backwards, away from your goals.

And every minute you waste complaining or being negative is a moment you could have used to improve your business or your life.

5. Focus on people, AND profit.

Your people are your greatest asset.

And without profit, you can have no people.

They aren’t volunteering.

You need profit for a sustainable business so you can pay people, so focus on people AND profit.

6. Plan for and measure marketing monthly.

Adjust activities accordingly and improve Return on Investment (ROI) every month.

*You should be more profitable every single month because of this activity.

7. Plan for and analyze financial goals versus results monthly.

Adjust systems/processes accordingly and improve every month.

*You should be more profitable every single month because of this activity.

8. Plan your year using your strategic plan and strategic objectives: one to three big business goals.

My number one goal is ALWAYS happy and engaged employees (minimum score 9/10 on monthly surveys).

Review and update fundamental statements (mission, vision, culture) when necessary.

Remember to call attention to these consistently (especially the vision statement) to ensure the team is aligned in achieving your objectives.

Analyze your own company and competitors, and complete a Strengths/Weaknesses/Opportunities/Threats (SWOT) analysis, in order to be sure about your Unique Selling Point (USP). Then exploit the heck out of it!

Build that USP into training systems, post reminders, and call attention to it as often as possible. This is the way you “be the best and charge the most.”

Your whole team should know and exploit your USP.

Create projects, systems and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) that add up to you achieving your strategic objectives.

Review those projects, systems and KPIs to ensure that every item and every goal are completed and achieved as planned.

9. Execute! Execution trumps EVERYTHING.

You can learn all you want, but if you don’t apply it, it’s all a big waste of time.

Use your calendar to ensure you execute on EVERYTHING that works for you.

When something happens in your business that you want to prevent in the future, create a system to prevent it.

When great things happen (i.e. your monthly marketing, financial or people reports are awesome) put systems in place to KEEP those good things happening. EXECUTE. Do the things!

10. Make it fun or else you’ll lose your mind.  Haha.

Seriously though, plan celebrations. Plan vacations. Plan staycations. Plan dates. Plan giving back. Plan things you LOVE.

Also, make sure to reward yourself for achievements. Otherwise, you’ll subconsciously be less motivated.

If you’re doing something you don’t love, change your paradigm to make it more enjoyable.

Remember that your thoughts create how you feel, so consciously insert good thoughts into your mind. Here’s an article with some tips for a positive mindset at work.

11. Feel. Good. Now.

…Or one day you will learn that you don’t have enough time left. I hope all these strategies show you how to succeed in business and live a great life because of it.

Remember, Business Can Be Better™ and it SHOULD BE, NOW.

Business can be better™ and it should be!
