You may have noticed that this blog post was posted about a day later than usual…. and there’s a good reason for that (not an excuse, but a reason). I didn’t feel like it! I simply could not drum up the enthusiasm to write a Monday Morning blog post when I didn’t FEEL enthusiastic or motivated! This doesn’t happen to me often, maybe once a year at most these days. But when it does, even as an accountability coach I tend to do the opposite of what works – shut myself in my room and binge on Netflix…. Please don’t do this! It doesn’t work I promise.
Reach Out To People Who You Know Can Lift You Up
Today, my husband helped me to realize how many things I have in my life to be grateful for and excited about. Second, I had meetings with clients who are positive, hopeful, coachable, and awesome. Next, I attended a rotary meeting and really observed my friends and colleagues… being kind, happy and giving. Then, one of my future business partners reminded me just how incredibly amazing people can be. Finally, my podcast partner got me into an awesome conversation about how we can improve business, and totally put me into a great and inspired mood. I realized as I walked in the door this evening, to hunker down and do some work, that I was in a very INSPIRED and MOTIVATED mood all of a sudden! But…. things don’t happen suddenly. They happen a little bit at a time. I realized that the PEOPLE I’ve been around all day have taken me from unmotivated and down, to inspired, motivated and uplifted!
I’ve said this many times before, but I cannot emphasize enough how important it is to surround yourself with people who lift you up. There will be one of the most valuable changes you can make in your life, and your business. Your business is a reflection of YOU, and your leadership, so if you’re not feeling motivated and inspired, your business won’t be either.
