There are times in everyone’s life where you lose focus on the things that really matter. We spend our money and our time on trivial matters or things that just cause us stress and aggravation. It is important to remember to look at your priorities now and then to make sure you’re on the right track. You need to prioritize your priorities!
Here’s an exercise to try: List your priorities in order of importance. Now look at your calendar and your bank account and look at how much time and money you are spending on the things that are important to you. How much are you spending on the less important things?
If you are investing in things that you are passionate about, that excite you, chances are, you are also happy. If not, it might be time to reassess what you’re doing. Likewise, if you are investing in the things that matter to your business and not getting distracted by low priority tasks, you’ll be more effective at your job.
What are your priorities?
Here is a video by Brian Tracy talking about identifying your work priorities and using them to maximize your performance and job satisfaction. As Tracy notes, if you can prioritize the things that matter most to your career, you’ll be more successful.
It is important for everyone to live according to their values and priorities. Your happiness and satisfaction with your life depend on it. Moreover, it is important to keep relationships and personal health high on the priority list! A 25-year long study confirms this, saying, “the more people decided to prioritize goals such as good relationships and good health, the happier they were, regardless of major life events.”
Do you want to get the most out of your business? Look at your priorities and see if relationship-building is on the list. Maintaining good relationships will make you happier; being happy with your work will make you more successful. Investing in just this area alone will lead to better outcomes in everything you do! Prioritize your priorities!
